Which floor suits which room?
Vinyl and tile handle moisture well in hallways and kitchens, while solid wood adds warmth and can be sanded back several times. The fitter can advise based on the room and your budget.
Can a new floor be laid over the old one?
Sometimes, if the existing surface is flat and stable, which saves time and money. The fitter will decide after inspecting the subfloor.
Are skirting and trims included in the quote?
Usually yes, but check that lifting the old floor, any levelling and the trims are all itemised. That way you are comparing complete quotes rather than the bare fitting cost.
